Get The Best Tie Downs For Your Small Trucks

Recently I borrowed a pick up truck to move a lot of small things . I have to admit that the trunk is just like a dumpster, you probably will find all kinds of garbage like stuff in it, sometimes I think I am just a hoarder! I tried to load them up in an ordered fashion but it was proved that my effort was futile. When the trunk is full I just stared at the mess I created, said to myself, I just did that? OK, I actually did that. Then it occurred to me that I couldn’t get on my way like this, if I did there would be possible consequences like these: most likely the big mess would just throw themselves off the truck and there would be high probability to cause accidents, or before anything could happen I would be stopped by a police officer and get ticketed. In a word, I couldn’t hit the road with “garbage” in my trunk and expect nothing would happen.

Let’s see what I could do now, I could start over and try to tidy them up and tie them down or simply find something to hold them together, to sum it up, I only need to find something to hold all stuff together and I would be good to go! Was that simple? Of course in this case we don’t need big tie downs like 10,000lb ratchet straps or grade 70 binder chains, All I need is something can hold a few hundred pounds and can cover the trunk, not some serious application at all. Since I already stack everything up, no cargo bars needed, those cargo bars for pick up are just for boxes or bags support or something similar, not for holding things together. Finally, I decided to do some research, mostly online.

At first I was totally lost because there so many tie downs, but when I narrow down my search to pick up truck I was able to find something useful, at first I found some 1” ratchet straps, camouflage ones, I liked these straps but they are too much in strength for me, even they were not too expensive, for the same reason those cam buckle straps were not good choice, all I found was too much for my simple application which was to hold things together, the 1” ratchet straps won’t be able to do anything to the huge mess, only would bring more chaos. Besides, 1” ratchet straps won’t be able to hold a lot small pieces together at all. Then I ran into this gem: cargo nets for pick ups, the size is 48”x60” which is ideal for my truck, It’s real easy to hold stuff with cargo net, just put the net on the stack, get the hooks hooked on the truck, done. With cargo nets come bungee cord , the bungee cords are just perfect for tying down cargo net, in fact the cargo net is made of interconnected bungee cords! For the record, the cargo nets and bungee cords are perfect for hold small stuff together, especially irregular objects in my case. There are a lot interesting use for these cords and nets, the only limit is your imagination.
